Blistex Lip Balm can also be used for purposes not listed in this medication guide. Warnings Follow all instructions on your label and package of medicines. Tell each of your healthcare providers all of your medical conditions, and all the medications you use. Before taking this medication You should not use a topical emollient if you are allergic to it. Blistex Lip Balm will not treat or prevent a skin infection. Blistex Lip Balm will not treat or prevent a skin infection. Ask a doctor or pharmacist if you are sure to use Blistex Lip Balm if you have:deep or open sores; swelling, heat, redness, wavy or bleeding; large areas of skin irritation; any type of allergy; or if you are pregnant or breast-feeding. How should I use Blistex Lip Balm? Use exactly as indicated on the label, or as prescribed by your doctor. Do not use in larger or smaller amounts or for longer than recommended. Clean the skin where the topical emollient will apply. You can help apply this product when your skin is wet or wet. Follow the instructions on the product label. Shake the product container if recommended on the label. Apply a small amount of topical emollient to the affected area and gently rub. What should I avoid while I take Blistex Lip Balm? Avoid getting Blistex Lip Balm in your eyes, nose or mouth. If this happens, rinse with water. Avoid exposure to sunlight or tanning beds. Some Blistex Lip Balm can make your skin more sensitive to sunlight or UV rays. Blistex Lip Balm side effects Get emergency medical help if you have any of these signs of an allergic reaction: ; difficulty breathing; swelling of the face, lips, tongue or throat. Stop using the topic emollient and call your doctor if you have severe burn, bite, redness or irritation where the product was applied.
